Project description

New charging infrastructure for shared vehicles powered by collective solar energy installations project aims to expand electric carsharing services in Mallorca, Spain. By combining renewable energy generation with shared mobility solutions, the initiative seeks to reduce transport-related emissions, optimise the use of urban space and improve accessibility to sustainable transport options.

    It addresses key local challenges such as high car ownership rates, congestion and environmental pressures, while providing a practical and inclusive solution to mobility needs. The project also has strong replication potential across other cities and regions facing similar transport and sustainability challenges.

    With CEAH support, the project is advancing its technical design, regulatory compliance and financing strategy to enable large-scale deployment.  

    1. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development 

    Supports the identification and engagement of key stakeholders to establish collaboration frameworks and expand the project’s footprint. Key deliverables include: 

    • A List of Potential Partners, identifying relevant stakeholders (e.g. public authorities, private entities) for collaboration 
    • A Guide to Structuring Discussions, providing a framework to tailor engagement strategies and meeting formats 

    2. Legal Structuring of Cooperation Frameworks 

    Provides legal guidance to structure partnerships and enable collaboration models suited to different stakeholders and self-consumption configurations. Key deliverables include: 

    • A Guide to Legal Frameworks, outlining possible cooperation structures, ownership models, and contractual arrangements 
    • A Guide to Self-Consumption Procedures, explaining legal processes and requirements for implementing solar installations 

    3. Financial Strategy and Funding Identification 

    Identifies suitable funding mechanisms aligned with project activities and stakeholder configurations. Key deliverable includes: 

    • A List of Funding Options, analysing available financing mechanisms, including their advantages and limitations for different activities and partners 

    4. Technological Positioning and Innovation Support 

    Strengthens ECOTXE’s technical positioning by assessing current solutions and identifying opportunities for innovation and collaboration. Key deliverables include: 

    • A Current Situation Assessment (Memorandum), evaluating existing technical solutions against best practices 
    • A List of Priority Entities/Projects, identifying relevant platforms, partnerships, and innovation initiatives 
    • A Report on Contacts and Action Plans, summarising engagement with selected entities and defining next steps
