Comunità Energetica Rinnovabile Alta Valle del Farfa ETS

Project description

“Comunità che Genera: Energia, Autonomia e Governance,” located in Casaprota, Italy, is a rural initiative focused on strengthening local energy autonomy in a rural inner area by combining renewable energy production, sustainable mobility and community-led services. Key components include the development of a photovoltaic plant with storage, the installation of an electric vehicle charging station and the creation of shared mobility solutions complemented by digital tools and training activities.

  1. Challenges addressed

It addresses structural challenges such as depopulation, ageing populations, energy poverty and limited transport connectivity. By integrating energy services with social and mobility solutions, the project fosters a holistic and inclusive approach to local development.

  1. Technology

The initiative integrates solar energy, battery storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and energy efficiency measures.

  1. Support received under CEAH

Through CEAH support, the project is developing its financial strategy and strengthening local capacities to manage and scale the initiative.

    1. Energy Needs and Solar Potential Assessment – Technical Support
Assesses energy demand, site conditions, and solar potential to define both the initial configuration and the scalable development pathway of the energy community. Key deliverables include:

    • A Scaling and Siting Analysis Report, assessing consumption profiles, PV potential, and suitable sites for expansion
    • A Energy Production and Sharing Assessment, outlining system sizing, expected generation, and energy sharing potential

    2. Feasibility Analysis and Financial Advisory
Develops a structured financial framework to assess project viability, define investment needs, and support engagement with funders and investors. Key deliverables include:

    • A Financial Model, detailing CAPEX, OPEX, cash flows, and viability indicators across scenarios
    • An Investor and Funder Roadmap, outlining funding opportunities and engagement strategy

    3. Legal and Governance Support
Defines the regulatory, governance, and contractual framework to enable implementation, including arrangements with public authorities and future expansion. Key deliverables include:
