Citizen Energy Advisory Hub

Comunità Energetica "Monte Pizzocco"

Project description

The Monte Pizzocco Renewable Energy Community is a citizen-led initiative in small mountain municipalities in north-east of Italy aimed at accelerating the local energy transition while supporting municipal social spending. The project promotes renewable energy deployment, community participation and the reinvestment of financial benefits into social initiatives for the municipalities who joined the EC.

  1. Challenges addressed

It addresses challenges typical of mountain areas, including limited financial resources, high social expenditure needs and the complexity of managing energy initiatives in small municipalities. Its model is highly replicable across similar rural and mountainous regions.

  1. Technology

The initiative combines solar energy for both private and public projects.
